Easy Green Bean Casserole Recipe: A Delicious Holiday Side Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

In a large pot, bring a gallon of salted water to a boil.

Add 1 pound of green beans to the boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until tender.

Drain the green beans and set aside.

In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat.

Add 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour to the melted butter and stir to form a roux.

Pour in 2 cups of milk and continue to stir until the sauce thickens.

Stir in 1 cup of canned, drained and fried onions.

Add the green beans to the sauce and stir to coat.

Transfer the green bean mixture to a casserole dish and top with an additional 1/2 cup of fried onions. 

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Enjoy!
